Description

The Personal Locator Beacon Register provides a location for the general public to register their Personal Locator Beacon device. A Personal Locator Beacon or PLB is a portable radio transmitter, which aids the Search & Rescue (SAR) emergency services in the detection and location of persons in distress.

Coverage

The Personal Locator Beacon Register is a national register of all PLB devices which have been registered by the general public with ComReg. Details of the unique device are provided by owners of a PLB device. This data is made available by ComReg to the Rescue Services on a daily basis allowing them to locate a person in need once their device has been activated to seek assistance.
