The MTR scheme is a social housing option which involves borrowers with unsustainable mortgages voluntarily surrendering their homes to their lender for sale to either an AHB or private company and remaining in their former homes as social housing tenants. The scheme is administered by the Housing Agency with the Department's support and operates in all local authority areas. Data contained within this dataset can relate to MTR applicants, local authorites, MTR providers (AHBs or private company) and the dwellings concerned.
