The Central Credit Register, (CRR) which is owned and operated by the Central Bank of Ireland, was established by the Credit Reporting Act 2013 and it is a national database which contains personal and credit information in relation to qualifying credit agreements and credit applications in Ireland.

On request the CRR provides, a borrower with an individual credit report detailing their credit agreements, a lender with comprehensive information to help with credit assessments; and the Central Bank with better insights into national trends in the provision of credit.


The Central Credit Register (CRR) has national coverage. Personal data held on the CCR includes a person’s name, address, date of birth, PPSN and employment status.
