Description

Information on funding provided to 650 groups to implement the Seniors Alert Scheme (SAS). This data is held by Pobal on behalf of the Department, in the IRIS database. A new database is currently being built.

This scheme aims to encourage community support for vulnerable older people. Personal monitored alarms for older persons with limited means are provided. In order to apply you must be aged 65 or over and one of the following: • Be living alone or with another person over 65, or • Be alone for the majority of the day.

How did they hear about the scheme (community/neighbourhood watch, doctor, local paper/newsletter, community group/worker, Gardaí, PHN/health centre/HSE, other).
