Dog Control Administrative data The Department publishes annual statistics on certain dog control functions of local authorities including data on the number and type of dog licences, enforcement activities and the number and type of dog breeding establishments. Local authorities and An Post (as an agent for local authorities) issue dog licences. Details of persons who purchase a dog licence are recorded (on national dog licensing database) including name, address, contact details and eircodes. Each local authority also records details of persons who apply to register as a dog breeding establishment, including name, address contact details and eircodes.
